Unworked calico apron.

This appeared on eBay a few weeks ago, and I pounced! The lady who had it up for auction lives in the next suburb, and she brought it around to me a few days later, thus saving us postage and packing costs - it's handy when eBay sellers and buyers live close by!
This apron dates back to around the 1930's/40's, we think, going by the style of the swimsuit the lady is wearing. I've just photographed the main part of the design, and it isn't very clear because it is quite faded.

Gday Gina,, Just popped in to see if your collection had grown.. and low and behold it has... You made me smile at putting on the Maids apron after your shower,
I think I have to say love the Green gingham strawberries.

Recently saw this posting and love the apron! Lucky find. Just made my first apron and would like to make another with embroidery. Great stuff!

Hi Gina
Fabulous apron - I've got a few of these that are unstitched and waiting for attention but none to compare with this wonder. Thanks for the visit - yes Trade Me is just like E-Bay but purely NZ. It has the market cornered and E-Bay doesn't get a look in here. Its horribly addictive and I've been trying to ration myself - not always with success.
Thanks also for the kind comment about my tea cosy. I'm loving making them. Glad things are settling down in Victoria - hope the rains keep coming for you all.
